| Hotel Rwanda Is based on the true events of the atrocities of genocide of the Hutu and
Tutsi people in Rwanda back in 1994 where over 800,000 people were killed.
Specifically, it tells the heroism of a hotel manager, Paul Rusesabagina who initially went to protect his family and eventually provided a safe haven to 1,200 Rwandan refugees. Dubbed the African 'Schindler's List', this film not only is a harrowing account of a 'forgotten' event in histoy, but boasts a superb, unknown cast and is a hot contender for an Oscarwin or two. |
