| Things haven't been the same for Jack Sparks (Brody) after he recieved a gunshot wound to the head while serving in the Gulf War in 1991. Although recovered from his wound, he suffers amnesia. A loner with no family, he wonders around Vermont like a lost soul. One night, while hitchhiking, he helps a woman and child get back on the road after a breakdown. But after accepting a lift from a man, he finds he is a suspect for murder. By reason of insanity, he is institutionalised at Alpine Grove, where unconventional methods of treatment are endorsed. In starks case, he is strapped in a jacket and placed in a morgue 'drawer' for hours... Mysteriously, he experiences "flashbacks" which are actually episodes of the future, where he meets a caring woman, Jackie (Knightley) and through these experiences he soon realises the road to recovery lies in the future and the woman he loves... An interesting psychological thriller... |
