On her way home from school on a snowy December day in 1973, 14-year-old
Susie Salmon (Saoirse "ATONEMENT" Ronan) is lured into a makeshift
underground den in a cornfield and brutally raped and murdered, the latest victim of
a serial killer--the man she knew as her neighbor, Mr. Harvey (Stanley "THE DEVIL
WEARS PRADA" Tucci). From heaven, Susie keeps watch over her grieving family
and friends, as well as her brazen killer and the sad detective (Mark "THE
DEPARTED" Wahlberg) working on her case. Academy Award winner Peter
("LORD OF THE RINGS") Jackson directs. Featured players also include Rachel
("THE CONSTANT GARDENER") Weiss and Susan ("ENCHANTED") Sarandon.
Based on the best selling book by Alice Sebold.
A film moving ten months later is never normally a good
sign. The studio claim that the move is to position it as
a major awards contender for next year. Let's go with
that, as the pedigree is so strong.

A Walt Disney animated fairy tale that centers on a young girl named Princess
Tiana (voiced by Anika "DREAMGIRLS" Noni Rose) who lives in New Orleans'
French Quarter during the Jazz Age. This film is the first hand-drawn Disney
animated film since 2004's "HOME ON THE RANGE."
The first Disney film to have an African American
princess. Could be very big.

Arthur journeys with the Minimoy Princess Selenia and her brother Betameche in
search of the forbidden city of Necropolis, home of the villainous wizard Maltazard.
Befor they reach the evil wizard, they must make their way past sticky spider webs
and Maltazard's threatening henchmen. Sequel to the popular French fantasy,
animated/live-action mixture, "ARTHUR AND THE INVISIBLES."
The first film was a decent success in an admittedly
barren half-term for kid's product. Look for this to
follow the same release strategy.

incredible powers in the image of the son he has lost. Unable to fulfill the grieving
scientist's expectations, 'Astro Boy' leaves, embarking on a journey of acceptance
and betrayal that eventually leads him back to the home he left in order to save
Metro City and the father who had rejected him. David ("FLUSHED AWAY")
Bowers directs. Based on the comic strip "Astro Boy" created by Omasu Tezuka in
1951.

in South Africa during his first term as president when he campaigned to host the
1995 Rugby World Cup event as an opportunity to unite his countrymen. Starring
Morgan ("THE DARK KNIGHT") Freeman as Mandela. With Matt ("THE BOURNE
ULTIMATUM") Damon. Based on the forthcoming book by John Carlin, "The
Human Factor: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Saved the World."
Oscars. Plain and simple.

Another film that has moved from its original release
date. And is likely to do so again, to February or March
of next year. That's four moves so far. Hmmm, hard to
see that boding well.

just might result in her getting engaged.
If, (and it's a big if) you can get beyond Matthew
Goode's appalling Irish accent, there's plenty to enjoy
here, mostly courtesy of the charming and beautiful
Amy Adams.

In this Drama set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) is investigating
the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally
insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island. This is the fourth
teaming of director Martin Scorsese and star Leonardo DiCaprio (following
"GANGS OF NEW YORK", "THE AVIATOR", and "THE DEPARTED"). Based on
the novel by Dennis Lehane.
Lehane's previous two novels to hit the screen were
MYSTIC RIVER and GONE BABY GONE. DiCaprio and
Mark Ruffalo are amongst the finest screen actors
around and Scorsese is making his first feature film
since he won his first Oscar™. Excited?
